Step Great Grandchildren

I don't have any great-grandchildren, but these two beauties are my step great-grandchildren. It cracks me up when they call my son "Pop." He's 50 and was married to their grandmother, long before they were born. Beauty runs in their family.

Mrs. Pugh

This was painted by Meredith Clay Murrill back about 1970. It was a portrait of someone she knew in West Virgina. The original went to the subject, but my father took this photo. As you can see, a scan of a photograph of a painting loses some quality. The actual painting was very life-like.

I am honored

Sometimes when people retire, they get a gold watch. Or a golden parachute in the millions of dollars with stock options. I got a brick. The local high school was building an outdoor terrace and funded it by selling bricks. Retired teachers, however, got their brick free. That's mine at the center.

I am honored again

Our daughter, Julie, took this picture while traveling in Wisconsin. I hope to visit there someday and thank them for naming their town after me.

Gwynn's animals

My cousin, Gwynn Murrill, has had a highly successful carreer with her sulptures of animals. She lives in California, but these pictures were taken at a show in Boston.

Tori with the hoe

There she stands in a long flowing dress, hoe in hand, and the garden in the background. Does she dress like that when gardening? No, she was just showing off the dress and thought the hoe was a nice accessory. People with a strange sense of humor are common in our family.

Happy?

I love this picture of Willette. I guess she was having fun on our cruise to Mexico.

Figurine

I'm trying to identify this figurine. There is an ethnic look to this old lady, but where did she come from. Is she Asian, African, European? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Ghostly Orb

On a bright, sunny Christmas morning (2006) there was a ghostly orb floating around in our back yard. I only had time for two pictures before it disappeared. (Or as they say these days, ". . . it went missing.")

Any explanations?

Sam had a good day at the lake.

I guess Sam was maybe six or eight years old when he caught this string of fish. Those are crappie, and they tend to stay in schools. Find a school and you can catch a lot of fish in a short time.
The reel is a Mitchell 300.

scooters by the herd

This is a herd of motor scooters grazing through our back yard.
