Steamer Trunk

A long time ago, this old trunk was rescued on its way to the dump. Our daughter painted it blue and used it in her apartment. After marriage, a house, and two kids, the trunk wound up in the garage. Then one day she gave it this neat paint job and moved it into the den.

They call these "steamer trunks" because people used them when traveling, and both trains and ships were "steamers" in those days. I would estimate that it is more than 70 years old.

Wildflowers at Center Hill

These wildflowers were growing beside an overlook at Center Hill Reservior in Tennessee. They were hanging over a cliff about 80 feet above the water.
